ABOUT DAVE


Dave Franckowiak is a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) helping companies in ownership transition on a project or advisory basis through Franckowiak CFO LLC.  For companies that are preparing for sale, in a sale process and in post-sale transition to new owners, much of the work falls to the CFO, in addition to day-to-day finance.  Dave provides the bandwidth and skills to help the company through the transition. 


Previously, Dave was CFO of B-O-F Corporation.  He led the sale process of family-owned business to private equity including selection of investment banker, development of CIM and management presentation, data room, sell-side quality of earnings diligence, forecasting, buyer diligence, close and post-close transition. 


Dave was also VP Finance & Corporate Controller for MW Industries, Inc. (MWI). He led sell-side financial diligence for sale process by auction. Add-on acquisition diligence and integration of several companies.   MWI was owned by Genstar Capital, LLC, a middle market private equity firm.


Dave started his career in audit with PricewaterhouseCoopers and then held senior financial executive roles in public and private middle market companies. In 2007, he was hired as CFO of Closet Works, the Custom Closet leader in Chicagoland, when they were acquired by Pfingsten Partners, an operationally focused private equity firm.


Dave received his BS and Masters in Accounting from DePaul University.  He continues his passion for accounting education as adjunct professor at DePaul and a board member Ledger & Quill giving society.


Dave's other passion is sailing.  He is Past Commodore, Chief Scorer and Webmaster of the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club.
